Z.R.C. Production
Cold Galvanizing Compound Z.R.C. was introduced in 1952 by Nor Folk Corporation, the parent company of Z.R.C.
World Wide, and the U.S. Navy through their joint research. Since then, the compound has been used not only in the U.S.
but also in many countries as an effective rust-proofing method.
Cold galvanizing is as effective as hot-dip galvanizing.
Its durability as well as economical efficiency make the Z.R.C. a best choice in many fields of rust-proofing.

What is Z.R.C.

It is a premixed liquid compound, and the dried film of Z.R.C. is 95% high-quality metallic zinc.
As an anti-corrosion protection, a thin film of minute rust is formed as an over coat and this thin film will give a rust-proof finish to the steel.
As a galvanic action, zinc which has higher ionic characteristic dissolve faster than steel which has lower ionic traits, and this will control the corrosion of steel.

Z.R.C. Method

The Z.R.C. method was the first among foreign companies to receive evaluation for building construction technology and technology inspection verification from The Building Center of Japan.
The test ran as follows: Z.R.C. was applied at normal temperature onto the prepared steel material of a building.
By applying thin layer of film of 76μm or more, it can have the same effectiveness as the hot-dip galvanizing JIS H 8641 HDZ55 (550g/m2).

・Without the need of galvanizing pool, the technique can be easily be used in a steel frame manufacturing factory as well as on sight execution of galvanization of joint areas.
・Without the need of dipping in galvanizing pool (processing temperature of 450 to 480 degrees centigrade), cold galvanizing has no restriction in usage in planning, execution of construction and processing.

Inspection Guarantee

Carrying out of new technologies as well as maintenance techniques of building structures, and inspection guarantees of construction technologies

This Inspection Guarantee undertaking concerns evaluation of new technologies developed in private sectors for the construction of new building as well as maintenance of existing facilities. The evaluation will promote studies of new technologies which will be utilized in the field of construction and will lead to promotion of upgrading the technology of construction.

The Building Center of Japan's Inspection Guarantee

■Z.R.C. was applied at normal temperature onto the prepared steel material of a building. By applying thin layer of film of 76μm or more, it can have the same effectiveness as the hot-dip galvanizing JIS H 8641 HDZ55 (550g/m2).

● JIS H 8641 is a standard which has been set to test the quality of hot-dip galvanizing and has stipulation on how much galvanizing(g/m2) is needed.

Type The amount of galvanizing Application
HDZ35 350 and more to be used in a case where groundcoat of painting is needed in an average environment such as cities.
HDZ45 450 and more to be used in a case where thick galvanizing is needed in a slightly eroding environment such as an industrial zone.
HDZ55 550 and more to be used in a case where thick galvanizing is needed in a heavily eroding environment such as sea coasts.

Effectiveness

To enhance galvanizing action in hot-dip galvanizing, the zinc particles should be strongly binded to the steel with little adhesive material as possible. Trying to get galvanizing action with abundant zinc particles, the amount of adhesive material becomes insufficient and this will lead to ablation. On the other hand, with abundant adhesive material, the amount of zinc particles will be too less and will not see the necessary galvanizing action.

Cold galvanizing compound Z.R.C. is one of its kind that uses trade secret organic binder which affords true galvanic anti-corrosion protection.
Widely used paint<1> has too much adhesive material that will not enhance galvanizing action.
Widely used paint<2> has too much zinc particles with not enough adhesive material.
Paint<1> has low anti-corrosion characteristic while paint<2>has not enough binding strength: both does not have the necessary durability needed for longtime use.

Zinc particles of different sizes with sufficient adhesive material makes Z.R.C. the best cold galvanizing method that creates strong film and strong galvanizing action.
